Buckland Court (17th Century Listed Building)

In June 2010 our company was awarded the initial contract for the refurbishment of the staff accommodation at Buckland Court. These works were completed in October 2010 in time for the clients required moving in date.

We were then asked to proceed with the extensive refurbishment and re-modelling of the south wing. This included copper and lead roofing works, vertical and pitched slating, re-wiring, new joinery, replacing the ground floor structure, extensive structural repairs, new hardwood flooring, moulded plaster ceiling cornices and re-decorations.

Hallowell Farm - (Grade 2 16th Century Devon Longhouse - Listed Building)

This Grade 2 listed Devon longhouse; originally dating from the sixteenth century and on the banks of the river Tavy; has been restored and modernized by E L Greening in collaboration with the owners, over several phases

The initial phase was carried out by Greening’s largely unsupervised as the owners were still largely working overseas.

Subsequent phases were carried out with the owners in residence which required close collaboration to ensure that the home remained habitable during building works

The requirements of the conservation department of West Devon meant that external features had to remain including a replacement local slate roof and the use of specialised paints for all external walls

Internally the house has been fully modernised to include heating from a ground source heat pump and insulation to current building regulations. This entailed a complete renewal of all floor structures on both the ground and first floor levels as well as significant upgrades to all internal structures. A total rework of all plumbing and electrical works was also considered necessary to achieve 21st century standards.
