STONYCROFT, SAMFORD SPINEY
The company recently completed the refurbishment of 'Stonycroft'
an imposing property set on the edge of Dartmoor. The project
included a fully roofed scaffold, the rebuilding of the granite
chimneys and re-roofing of the house in new Delabole slate. Many
of the original windows were replaced with new hardwood windows.
Internally the company altered the layout to form three additional
en-suite bathrooms and an additional bathroom. A new fully
designed heating system was installed. Tanking work at the rear of
the property was undertaken before the inside of the house was
redecorated and re-papered. The contract was carried out on a
negotiated basis, after an earlier job for the client was
completed successfully. |

March 2009 bespoke architects designed speculative build in
Tavistock.
A timber frame construction incorporating western red cedar
cladding to the first floor and block and natural lime mortar
render to the ground floor with powder coated aluminum windows and
doors. Providing virtually a zero maintenance dwelling benefiting
from a high insulating properties. A rainwater harvesting system
has been installed providing a possible 50% saving on mains water.
An Alpha premier boiler is to be installed serving an under floor
heating system with a Zenex energy saving system benefiting from
two photoelectric cells providing a potential 40% saving on fuel
bills. |

VIXEN TOR
The extension on the remote 'Vixen Tor Cottage' was completed in
November 2008, it was a difficult project because of the ground
conditions and the distance materials had to be carried to the
site. The building was a traditional construction with a cut roof,
slate floors and purpose made windows and doors which were made in
the company's new joinery workshop. The contract was a negotiated
contract, after the completion of an earlier extension for the
client. |
